We had an up and down week this week. Connie's treatments on Wednesday pretty much knocked her down until mid day on Friday, even though we had a couple of runs into Corpus for Thursday and Friday treatments.
Monday will mark the last "whole brain radiation" treatment which will be a welcome relief. 40 minute drive one way for a 15-20 minute treatment daily gets old. Tuesday is a meeting with the radiation oncologist, then a break until the following Wednesday when we meet with our oncologist.
With all that news came word that Connie's last treatment in Texas will be on the 24th of April, with her first treatment in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic on the books now for May 15th.
We have friends who would like to come to Sandfest at Port Aransas on Sunday the 27th. If they come, we'll probably leave for Ohio on the 4th of May. If they don't come, we'll probably leave here on the 27th or 28th depending on when we find out they're not coming.
In the meantime, we're like last rig standing here at Copano Bay RV Resort. The program lists 146 sites; the girls and I walked around with a counter Thursday and only 43 rigs, not all of them occupied were still here. Wasn't like this in Portland at Sea Breeze RV Resort, but was like this in Tucson at Desert Trails.
Unfortunately already hearing of tire and mechanical troubles for those who have left, and those who are going home to snow.
Life is all about "the stories".

We begin the New Year!
Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Holiday season.
We celebrated a couple of anniversaries last month that we forgot to mention. On December 16th, Connie celebrated 9 years cancer free and on December 18th, we celebrated two years of the full time RV lifestyle. Yay!
Sea Breeze RV Park held a nice New Year's Eve Party (BIG improvement over last year!) with live music and fireworks at midnight. Being from Ohio, this fireworks and New Year's Eve thing isn't something that we've ever put together, but starting the day after Christmas here in the Coastal Bend, the fireworks stands started popping up everywhere.
We're little disappointed in the park here. Began last year when they put a destitute family in next to us (they litterally would leave in the morning in their van with signs begging for money in the window, park around H-E-B and elsewhere, then return for the evening.) Their sewage emptied into a marine cooler, which Dad dumped into the pond behind us. That was the final straw.
This year, we had to endure a guy going through a divorce and his nightly f-bomb fights with either his twenty something daughter (who lived with him along with a 5 and 9 year old) or his soon to be ex-wife. Not pleasant. They've moved to another part of the park, and we're supposed to have new neighbors on the 1st, but nothing so far. Park management said they had been warning him, but he's a "one more chance" machine since they moved him to another part of the park.
Got an ex-FEMA trailer moved into us on the other side with a big "Not to be used for housing" sticker on the window. We'll see how that goes.
As always, the beautiful thing about this lifestyle: if you don't like the neighbors, you can move. That might happen.
Been putting the finishing touches on this year's travel schedule. Hope to be publishing it soon. The primary event will be Ohio State playing Cal at Berkeley, which gives us a chance to travel California. Next winter, we'll be back to Tucson and Desert Trails RV Park which we really enjoyed in 2011.

2013 "Soft Plans" are in place.......
We've got a pretty good handle on the summer of 2013 now. Thought we did earlier, but for some reason started checking average temperatures and realized we had routed ourselves through the desert for 3 weeks during July. Not good with AVERAGE temperatures in the 100's daily.
Had to make this in two maps, so we'll go through each of them. An asterisk (*) denotes an Elks Lodge.
We'll take off from Portland, TX making overnight stops at Kerrville*, Fort Stockton, and Las Cruces* on our way to Albuquerque where we'll spend a month.
Mid June we'll make an overnight in Raton, NM on our way to Westminster*, Colorado for a month.
Mid July, we'll make overnights in Laramie and Rock River Wyoming on our way to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Towards the end of August, we'll head to Reno/Sparks, NV with overnight stops in Wells and Winnemucca.
As we enter California, we'll have a weeks stay at Roseville* and Carmichael*, we'll pull into Fremont* for 5 nights for this summer's feature event, the Ohio State Buckeyes playing a road game at Cal-Berkeley.

After the game at Cal, we'll continue on down the coastline with week long stops at Santa Clara*, Santa Cruz* (only 2 nights), Salinas*, Atascadero*, San Luis Obispo*, Santa Barbara*, Canoga Park*, Downey*, Garden Grove*, Oceanside* and 5 nights at El Cajon*. 10 weeks exploring California!
We'll make our way to Yuma, AZ for a week then on to Desert Trails RV Resort in Tucson, AZ for our winter.
