A couple of weeks ago, we were staying overnight at an Elks Lodge (in Amarillo, a great place for those of us who are members) and I took a walk with the dog through the neighborhood.
This was probably the first walk the two of us had taken through somewhere other than a campground for quite a while and it reminded me of the things I had left behind as a FullTime Rver.
There were yards that needed mowed, and some that were immaculately cared for with weed killer and fertilizer. Gardens that needed attention and others that were stunning. Fences that shielded neighbors views from other neighbors. Garages full of “stuff”. Houses that looked marvelous and ones that needed painted and/or repaired. Porches full of kids stuff, and trash thrown in yards by passersby.
And I thought to myself: I don’t miss any of this.
